Black-Eyed Pea Salad

I have never written a recipe down in my life. So, all this is hit or miss. All to taste. I learned to cook watching my grandmother. If I asked how much, she would say, “This much.” And show me. This salad is best served room temperature.
This so easy to make and perfect to take to somebody’s house when everyone is asked to bring a dish!!
Folks got CRAZY over this BLACK-EYED PEA SALAD!


  • 2 or 3 Cans of Black-Eyed Peas (Homemade are too mushy)

  • Green Pepper (Chopped)

  • Red Pepper (Chopped)

  • Yellow Pepper (Chopped)


(All thrown into a blender or food processor)

  • One bunch of cilantro

  • Apple Cider Vinegar (1/4 Cup)

  • Vegetable Oil (1/4 Cup)

  • Minced Garlic (1 Tablespoon)

  • Dry Mustard (1/2 Tablespoon)


  1. Mix ingredients and dressing together in a bowl. Best served room temperature.
